BMW 3 Series Wagon
Designed in the '80s with the initial model unveiled in Germany on 1988, then
released in Europe in 1995, the BMW 3 Series Wagon captivated its market with
its "touring" model. USA finally got a taste of the wagon on 2000 but only as
a 323i and a part of the E46 line. The wagon was designated with a 2.5-liter engine
that was modified to boost its output up to 184 horsepower. In addition, the company
reintroduced all-wheel drive as an option on sedans and wagons to create the 325xi
and 330xi, and lightened the steering.
For 2002, BMW updated the E46's appearance with a revised front fascia and new
taillights. Eventually the BMW 3 Series Wagon was fitted with a rear center headrest
and a moon roof. Storing cargo into the hold is very easy through the wide, low-lift-over
hatch or through the rear glass, which opens separately. Four stocky cargo hooks
are in store, as are two rubber cargo straps to restrain small, light items. A
roller shade hides the luggage's and a vertical cargo partition deploys to confine
the biggest domestic pets in the back, folding the seats may double the number
of cargo. There's even a 12-volt socket back there. Roof rails come standard with
the package.
